Taino House made it two victories in a row at Zia Park yesterday, going wire-to-wire in a quick :57.41 for five furlongs under Alfredo Juarez Jr.
The 4-year-old gelding by Bahamian Squall was sitting at 1/9 on the tote board throughout much of the betting, but edged up to 3/5 at post time and paid $3.20. He was in complete command at every call, and drew off with ease down the lane as announcer John McGary noted, “Taino House – he never took a deep breath.”
With his four-length score, the gelding bred by Donald Dizney boosted his record to 3-4-1 in 12 starts, and he’s been in the top three in six of his last seven, including all three victories. He earned $7,500, raising his total to $38,631, and was claimed for the second straight race.
In his third season, Bahamian Squall is less than $3,000 from reaching $900,000 in 2021 progeny earnings.
