Super Dude Now 7th Best Among First Dude’s Runners

At the age of seven, Super Dude continues to move up on the list of First Dude’s leading earners, jumping up two spots with an eye-catching wire-to-wire victory at Aqueduct yesterday.

The gelding bred by Moreau Bloodstock International collected $27,500 for his score at a mile and one-eighth, increasing his career total to $361,555, seventh best among First Dude’s runners. He raised his record to 9-4-4 in 28 starts.

Jose Lezcano was aboard Super Dude, who broke on top from the No. 5 post and quickly tucked in on the rail three lengths in front as the field rounded the first turn. He held a daylight lead down the backstretch until confronted by Air Attack coming to the final turn. The duo battled into the stretch, well ahead of the field, and from there Super Dude edged away to win for the third time in his last six starts. It was nearly nine lengths back to the third-place finisher.

Super Dude, a $200,000 OBS March 2-year-old in 2016, has won three of his last six starts, and became First Dude’s fourth winner in January. He needs less than $12,000 to move into sixth place on his sire’s earnings list.
