Spirit Wind 2nd in Gr. II Stakes at Keeneland; Earnings Reach $619,340

    Bahamian Squall’s leading money-winner, Spirit Wind, added $59,250 to her bank account with a solid second-place finish in the $350,000, Gr. II Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland. 

    With Mike Smith aboard, the 5-year-old mare bred by Jacks or Better Farm was up on the pace for most of the race at six furlongs, and held on well to gain the runner-up spot. The race went in a quick 1:09.52. She now sports a career record of 7-3-1 in 14 starts with earnings of $619,340, of which $256,900 has come in 2024.
