When Lovielee broke her maiden on March 27 of 2020 in her 3-year-old career debut at Tampa Bay Downs, she paid $38.00, $26.20 and $9.60 across the board. Yesterday, nine races later, the Bahamian Squall filly won for the second time and paid $2.60, $2.20 and $2.10 in a race that rain forced off the grass.
With Wilmer Garcia aboard on the day of the official start of the new fiscal year at Tampa, Lovielee sprinted to the lead in the race that wound up at five furlongs over the main track, and never looked back. She passed the furlong markers in :22.59 and :45.95 en route to a 4 3/4-length victory in :58.37.
The filly owned and bred by Ronald Jackson earned a check for $9,745 while becoming Bahamian Squall’s 13th winner of 2021.
