The love affair between Ray Arewethereyet and jockey Adrian Ramos is now seven races old and has resulted in the 5-year-old daughter of First Dude racking up a record of 4-2-1 during that span.
After her first 10 career races, Ray Arewethereyet was entered in the 2022 Keeneland November sale, and was taken for a bargain $8,000 by owner/trainer Temple Rushton, who promptly sent her to the sidelines for a 7 1/2-month vacation. She returned at Fonner Park on April 8 and has posted a record of 4-3-1 in eight races since, including the last seven with Ramos as her rider.
Ray Arewethereyet raised her overall record to 7-4-3 in 18 starts with her latest victory at Arapahoe Park. Ramos had her on or near the lead from the outset, and she proved to be much the best in the lane, winning by three lengths in 1:26.87 for the seven furlongs. She paid $2.60 and earned a check for $8,700, boosting her career total to $166,356, with $46,956 coming since being haltered by Rushton.
