Neigh Dude Romps at Parx; First Dude Approaching 900 Winning Rides

Sometime this week, it’s highly probable that First Dude’s runners will celebrate another career milestone – 900 visits to winner’s circles from coast to coast. No. 898 came yesterday at Parx Racing when Neigh Dude won the fifth race under Jeremy Laprida with one of the easiest scores First Dude or his rider will ever encounter.

Laprida settled the 4-year-old gelding in perfect stalking position down the backstretch in the race at six furlongs – in fourth place in the two path, about three lengths off the pacesetter. When Laprida asked him for more approaching the turn, Neigh Dude  quickly closed the gap, edged into the lead at the head of the stretch, then galloped away in mid-track under a hand ride and prevailed by 6 1/4 lengths.

Neigh Dude paid $18.80 and earned a check for $14,400, raising his career total to $72,972 on a record of 4-0-3 in 15 starts. A $2,000 Timonium yearling in 2020, the gelding bred by Porter Racing Stable became winner No. 10 for his sire since Jan. 1, and was awarded a super 96 ‘E’ speed figure for the effort, best of his career.
