Maryquitecontrary spent the early part of the Gr. III Princess Rooney Invitational at Gulfstream Park in eighth and last place, about eight lengths off the pace-setters, then made a strong late run under Luca Panici that fell half a length short at the wire.

After her next start, she’ll become the seventh First Dude to pass the half a million mark in career earnings.
