Long Legged Boy Romps at Parx; First Dude Nears Milestone

First Dude is less than $12,000 away from reaching the $23 million mark in career progeny earnings after the maiden-breaking victory of Long Legged Boy in the seventh race at Parx yesterday.

Dexter Haddock was aboard the 2-year-old Maryland-bred colt who was a 9/2 proposition after posting runner-up finishes in his previous two starts. Lng Legged Boy was off third in the race at 6 1/2 furlongs and was on the inside three lengths behind the pacesetter down the backstretch. Haddock swung him off the rail as they headed down the stretch and the gelding coasted to the wire nearly five lengths in front.

Long Legged Boy, who was bred by Maria Haire, was a $20,000 OBS June 2-year-old and he earned a check for $15,600 for his first victory, boosting his four-race total to $26,800. With his 53rd winner this year, First Dude passed $2.2 million in 2022 progeny earnings and reached $22,988,817 for his career.
