The way Fivefive Six Champ is going, it looks like he may soon become the next addition to First Dude’s $200,000 club.
The 5-year-old gelding bred by Tom McCrocklin scored his third victory in a row yesterday in a $31,900 allowance optional claimer at his favorite oval, Mahoning Valley in Ohio, and the winner’s check of $19,140 jumped his career total to $182,112. Fivefive Six Champ went right to the lead at the start of the six-furlong test, and he coasted past the furlong markers without being threatened in :22.94, :45.89 and :58.03, reaching the wire nearly three lengths in front, clocked in 1:10.72, and receiving his best Equibase ‘E’ speed figure – 107 – while posting a career record of 10-2-4 in 29 starts.
The $165,000 OBS March 2-year-old has won his last three by a combined total of 11 lengths, and he’s a perfect 6-for-6 at Mahoning Valley.
