It isn’t often that two of a stallion’s biggest money-winners show up in the same race, but it happened with First Dude in the $100,000 Sheer Drama Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
Winner of the race at seven furlongs was the 9/10 favorite, Beth’s Dream, but checking in second, four lengths behind, was the 5-year-old mare Maryquitecontrary, third biggest money-winner on First Dude’s list. She earned a check for $21,850, raising her career total to $685,492 on a record of 7-4-3 in 17 starts.
Another three-quarters of a length back was Charlie’s Wish, who collected $13,460 and moved into 14th place on the list. The 4-year-old filly had finished second in the race last year. Her record is 4-6-4 in 17 starts, with earnings of $328,679.
