Conrado has rapidly turned into the king of Western Canada.
Since shipping north of the border, in six starts at Grand Prairie and Lethbridge the 4-year-old First Dude gelding has racked up a record of 6-4-1-0-1. Adding his last nine starts in the U. S., he’s 6-7-1-1 in his previous 15. In the latest at Grand Prairie, just two weeks after his last score, he took Juan Apango wire-to-wire in a $7,500 allowance race at 6 1/2 furlongs, winning by nearly two lengths. Conrado was clocked in 1:19.00, and the 91 Equibase ‘E’ speed figure he received is the best of his 27-race career, in which he’s posted an enviable record of 7-8-2, with earnings of $69,098. This year alone, he’s an eye-opening 5-5-0 in 11 starts.
