Rogue Too survived a horrible trip in the Likely Exchange Stakes at Turfway Park last evening, never having a realistic chance to vie for the major share of the $100,000 purse. However, with Rogelio Miranda keeping to the task, the 6-year-old daughter of First Dude rallied to finish third in the race at one mile over the all-weather track, earning a check for $7,680.

    When the gate opened, Rogue Too stumbled slightly and was off last in the nine-horse field. Miranda was quickly able to maneuver her into seventh on the inside, but Rogue Too was boxed in the entire length of the backstretch, finally finding room late and making a good stretch run, although never threatening the winner.

    The third-place check boosted Rogue Too’s career earnings to $228,013, and she moved up one spot into 16th place in First Dude’s $200,000-plus club.
