Bahamian Moon won yesterday at Gulfstream Park for her third victory of 2021, Luca Panici guiding her to a comfortable 5-length main track score in a race that was originally scheduled for the grass.
The 4-year-old filly by Bahamian Squall battled for the lead between horses out of the gate, then took over and opened up daylight nearing a :22.85 first quarter. After that, it was strictly no contest, with Bahamian Moon cruising past the half in :45.78 without a challenge.
The filly bred by Good Beginnings Farm was clocked in :58.39 for the five furlongs over a sloppy track and earned a check for $14,700, raising her career total to $56,174 on a record of 3-4-0 in 11 starts. She has registered two victories and a second in her last three tries and sent Bahamian Squall over the $700,000 mark in 2021 progeny earnings.
