R B C Gold didn’t race at two and three, and in her first three starts at Tampa Bay Downs as a 4-year-old, she didn’t exhibit much promise. But a long van ride to Monmouth Park has turned it around for the 4-year-old filly by First Dude.

With Mychel Sanchez aboard, R B C Gold scored her second victory yesterday in her first three starts at in New Jersey. With Mychel Sanchez in the saddle, the filly bred by the late Raymond Mamone settled off the pace in the race at a mile and 70 yards, swung three wide into the stretch and coasted to the wire five lengths in front of 6/5 favorite One Night Stand. She had won by 7 1/2 lengths two races back.

R B C Gold was clocked in 1:45.63 and paid a whopping $46.40, while earning a check for $12,000.
