Bahamian Squall’s 10th winner of 2021 is My Mane Man, who broke his maiden at Gulfstream Park yesterday in a $40,000 maiden special in his second start, raising his sire’s progeny earnings at the beginning of his third season to $1,005,715. He became Bahamian Squall’s third winner in two days.
Emisael Jaramillo rode My Man Mane, who had finished third despite racing greenly in his career debut. The 3-year-old gelding bred by Pam Edel set the pace while two wide in the six-furlong test, putting up fractions of :22.05 and :45.49. He was headed nearing the eighth pole, but fought back gamely to prevail by nearly two lengths in 1:11.72, paying $8.20. The winner’s share of $24,000 lifted his earnings to $28,840.
