Bahamian Squall’s leading money-winner, twice stakes-placed Bahamian Girl, added $12,800 to her bank account yesterday at Gulfstream Park, lifting her career total to $150,820.
The 4-year-old filly bred by McKathan Bros., who finished second in the 2019 edition of the Susan’s Girl at Gulfstream, scored her fourth victory, racing one mile over the main track in 1:38.45 with Marcos Meneses in the irons.
Meneses shot Bahamian Girl to the lead and she cruised past the half-mile marker in :45.81 while holding the rest of the field at bay. She was never threatened for the entire trip and reached the wire 2 1/2 lengths in front, paying $11.80 and raising her record to 4-2-3 in 26 starts while becoming her sire’s seventh winner this year.
