It took Right Karma seven starts to break his maiden, and now the son of First Dude has made it two in a row.
The 5-year-old bred by Ocala’s Best A Luck Farm scored a sharp victory under Edgard Zayas in a race at a flat mile at Gulfstream Park. Right Karma, the 4/5 favorite, stalked the pace set by 6/5 second choice Blast Radius into the stretch and the duo left the field behind. Right Karma then proved to be the better of the two, drawing off to win by nearly three lengths in a clocking of 1:37.23, with the third-place finisher 11 more lengths behind.
Right Karma, A $160,000 OBS April 2-year-old, paid $3.80 and received a check for $13,800, boosting his 8-race total to $44,390 on a record of 2-2-0.
