Neigh Dude Wins Second Straight, Sends First Dude Over $28 Million

Neigh Dude came through for his new owners at Parx Racing on Wednesday, capturing a 5 1/2-furlong test after having been claimed out of his previous winning start by the partnership of Hardesty Racing, Kasey Racing and Michael Day. With the victory, the 6-year-old gelding sent First Dude’s career progeny earnings to $28,011,551, and left the son of Stephen Got Even one short of having 3,000 runners who have finished first, second and third.

However, the elation of winning a first start after a claim was short-lived for Neigh Dude’s new barn because the gelding’s previous owners, Just in Time Racing, claimed him right back.

Mychel Sanchez was in the irons aboard Neigh Dude for the second straight score, just 15 days after his previous victory. The gelding bred by Porter Racing Stable, a $2,000 Timonium October yearling, paid $5.40 and earned a check for $15,600, lifting his bank account to $215,992 on a sparkling record of 10-10-6 in 43 starts. In addition, he earned a career-best 97 Equibase ‘E’ speed figure.
