First Dude Colt Cruises to Second Stakes-Placed Finish at Parx

The 10-horse field for the $100,000 Crowd Pleaser Stakes at Parx Racing was reduced to four Pennsylvania-breds after six scratches due to a muddy track, and Time to Cruise and jockey Ruben Silvera took advantage of the situation to get the son of First Dude his second stakes-placed finish.

The race was originally scheduled for the turf, but ended up at a mile and a sixteenth on the main track, and Time to Cruise closed well to get second but was no match for winner Movisitor, although finishing 12 1/2 lengths ahead of 1/5 favorite Ninetyprcentmaddie.

The 3-year-old colt, who had previously been second in the $75,000 City of Brotherly Love Stakes at Parx in March, collected $20,000 for his runner-up finish, raising his total to $124,273 on a record of 3-2-0 in nine starts. Bred by Ocala’s Best A Luck Farm, Time to Cruise was a $40,000 Timonium 2-year-old purchase.
